Rental Policy

All canoe, kayak, or SUP rentals come with PFD’s with whistle, paddles, bilge pump or bailing bucket and throw rope. Foam blocks, tie down straps and rope are also included to assist with transport.

At Totem, we offer affordable rental options for a variety of outdoor gear, including skis, snowboards, kayaks, and more

FAQ

Is a deposit required to make a rental?

A 50% non refundable deposit is required, based on the total rental cost except when otherwise indicated.

Is a credit card required to rent from Totem?

Yes. We require a credit card on file and for remote bookings by phone. Other means of payments are accepted in person.

When may I pickup my Friday through Tuesday rental, and can the rental be picked up on a Saturday?

Friday through Tuesday rentals are scheduled for pick up anytime on Friday and returned on the following Tuesday. If you pick up on a Saturday, the rental rate published does not decrease.

What if I return the rental equipment dirty or damaged?

A cleaning fee will apply if rental equipment is returned dirty. Customers are responsible for any loss or damage to rental equipment and also for personal injury.

Do you rent for less days than what is posted and do the prices include GST?

You may rent the boat for less days and return it, but you would still pay the posted rate. The prices posted do not include GST

Will Totem employees be available to assist in loading rental equipment?

Yes Totem employees may assist in loading rental equipment, but are not responsible for any damage or injury that may occur during the process.

What other options are available to rent with a rental of a vessel?

Optional spray skirts may be requested for certain kayaks. Dry bags, barrels and portage carts may also be rented for an additional fee.

If I want to rent a trailer, what is the minimum quantity of vessels that must be rented at one time?

Trailers are available ONLY with a minimum of a 4 vessel rental.
